"Third Historical Display Goes Up"

Sept. 21, 07

A "Foundations of American Law & Government Display" has been hung in the courthouse in Clayton County in Jonesboro, Georgia. In June of this year, a display was hung in a community center owned by the city of Odum, Ga. Another display was hung in the City Hall of Hartwell, Ga earlier this month. The display in Jonesboro is the third state law approved display to go up but, the FIRST of its kind to go up in a county courthouse.

There was a dedication ceremony held today (9/20/07) at the courthouse to unveil the new display. Approximately 50 people in attendance heard a number of speakers including the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners (Eldrin Bell) who spoke about the importance of communicating the facts about our country's founding. He also said that he was challenging all 159 county commission chairmen across the state to lead out in having the displays posted in their courthouse.

On July 1, 2006, Gov. Sonny Perdue signed into law H.B. 941 http://www.legis.state.ga.us/legis/2005_06/fulltext/hb941.htm authorizing local governments to erect historical displays that include a copy of the Ten Commandments. These displays pave the way for communities to further educate their citizens regarding historical facts about our country's founding.

Ten Commandments Georgia congratulates Clayton County for making this historical step to take advantage of this new law. County Commission Chairman Eldrin Bell and the Board are all to be commended for this bold step in leading out as the first county to put these documents up in their courthouse.

These historical documents are being made available through the ministry of Ten Commandments GA, Inc. This is a great opportunity for private citizens, churches, civic clubs and organizations to purchase these documents and to present them for approval to their local governing boards, commissions and councils.

TC-GA has beautifully designed to legal specifications the nine piece historical display. You may view these unique designs by logging onto to www.thoushalt.org
